Trade rocked Pulse for it’s 21st Birthday over the Halloween weekend and this video shows Trade doing what it does best.
With shots of the main dance floor, several DJs including Pagano, Smokin Jo and Fat Tony, plus the usual dancers against a pixel wall back drop. Trade glasses, ghoulish makeup, shirtless boys and big tunes defined the night at Pulse.
Scene photographer Chris Jepson found himself at Onyx on Friday night…he said “Consistently one of the weeks best parties, Onyx laid on an intergalactic experience last Friday as the Space Invaders, um, invaded Vauxhall! Under a ceiling festooned with all new décor, main room residents are now joined by weekly special guest….” and these are his pics to prove it. This is but a small selection of images from his website www.londonclubland.com
TTD London promised to shake up Sundays, and at the start it seemed Sundays had shaken up TTD.
Starting at 4pm, TTD had to compete with horrible weather and a tube strike.. the main crowd did not turn up until the sun decided to go down, and with what was a shaky start TTD turned it around to create a party that was busy, but not packed, full with a mix of assorted gay tribes. Bears, fetish, clubbers, chavs, hunks, gAylisters and a handful of cowboys (turning up from Les Johnson’s return of the Cowboy party) …it all help create an event that was fun, friendly and reminiscent of early DTPM.
The venue was industrial with a minimalist approach to lighting. Its large spaces, high roof and conrete and steel ambinence had many commenting on ‘how did we miss this venue’. Billy Richards, the promoter wanted a testoerosne fuelled evening, and although it could have been busier, the crowd was perfect for such a t’dance. DJs Pagano, Brent Nicholls & Nick Tcherniak played a mix of tunes form disco inspired house, remixed classics, progressive, tribal and funky house. With the sweet smell of success…Billy has arleady planned th enext event on Sunday 7th November, and another in December.
DISCO MATT’S REVIEW:
So, what was our conclusion on T.T.D. as a viable venture & what should the team concentrate on for future parties? Well, first & foremost, there was no doubt in our mind that this new kid on the gAylist scene block is such a refreshing change to the now normality of Vauxhall, the central location a real winner in many people’s eyes, even if Sound as a venue took a little getting used to. It was clear that the music was the main statement, all three D.J.’s putting up prolific performances, the whole essence of a musical journey being satisfied superbly and with the combination of that Sunday socialising feel to it, we can definitely see T.T.D. increasing with popularity, party after party.
Yes, Sound was never packed, but when you consider that the team had to face inclement weather & tube strikes, the numbers they pulled in were impressive enough and whilst the party lacked a little polish here & there, the absence of certain equipment & proper podiums for the dancers, the in balance of lighting early & the lack of smoke & laser effects which made a huge difference, are all things that can be put right quite easily. Given this was Billy Richard’s first ever full on clubbing event, he can be proud of what he has achieved, his team truly committed to the cause & the result a party that everyone (and we mean everyone) we have spoken to since, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, so like us, will be back for plenty more of that terrific time dancing that we had, come 7th November & you should be there too. >>CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL REVIEW.
