MUSIC: Hot New House Tracks

SeenQueen.com loves music and we love breaking new grooves. Knowing we recommend a wide variety of gAyLIST parties…these tunes are the ones we think deserve to be on any dance floor. More importantly…by listening to them you will contribute to the compilation of the next SEENQUEEN.COM HITLIST PODCAST.

Over the last few months we have been adding tracks to the HITLIST…promoting the playlist and seeing what tunes you are listening to and favouring. The lowest averages are removed and we then add new tracks.

So far three tunes have confirmed their place in the HITLIST MIX 2. See below:

  1. Joey Negro – Must Be The Music (Crazibiza Remix) (confirmed)
  2. Crazibiza & Kevin Prise – Reach Out (Vocal Mix) (confirmed)
  3. David Puentez feat. Max C – Things We Do 4 Love (Crazibiza Remix) (confirmed)

But what will make up the other 6 tunes? That is up to you. A podcast for the people by the people!

This is how it works.

We have uploaded flyers from the nominated clubs and events into a gallery called YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU 2011. YOU CAN VIEW IT HERE  (it will open in a new window or tab)

Scroll through the flyers and click on LIKE for each one you want to vote for. The name of the club is in the description below the image.

If you do not have a FACEBOOK profile and still wish to vote…please send us an email using our CONTACT FORM listing which clubs you would like to vote for. You can see the nominations below.

SQ CLUB POLL 2011 FAQS…
 Which Clubs Are Nominated?

BEYOND | CASA LATINA | HUSTLABALL LONDON | LOVECHILD | THE WEEK LONDON | AM | AS ONE | HARD ON | WE PARTY LONDON | GIGOLO* | SUPERMARTXE | ROOM SERVICE* | HOTWIRED | PLAYTIME* | ORANGE | WIG PARTY | INFINITA ORGULO MADRID | SATURDAY @ BARCODE | RUPERT STREET BAR | LATER | TRADE 21ST | GUTTERSLUT | SATURDAY @ LO PROFILE | ONYX | SOCIETY* | SYDNEY MARDI GRAS 2011 | DELICE DREAM 2011 | LA DEMENCE BRUSSELS | HUSTLABALL BERLIN | PROFILE BAR | XSLIOR 2011 | PRIDE LONDON 2011 | SOHO PINK WEEKEND 2011 | EURO PRIDE (ROMA) 2011 | GREENKOMM COLOGNE | RAPIDO AMSTERDAM | QUEENS DAY AMSTERDAM | CIRCUIT PARTY BARCELONA | SHADOW LOUNGE | THE EDGE BAR.

How Were These Clubs Nominated?

The clubs/bars and events listed in this club poll had to meet two criteria. First of all they have to be recommended by Seen Queen in 2011, that is, they have appeared or appear in our CLUB DIARY. Second, the club/bar/event has to be current, still running, had dates in the previous year and this year and in the case of events may continue or are planned for 2012. If your favourite club/bar/event is missing from our poll, please let us know which one that is. It may have been accidentally left out or it may have not met one of these criteria.

Why Are There Different Categories In The Poll?

This year Seen Queen will awarding 6 different awards. There will of course be the overall winner (the club/bar/event with the highest number of votes) called the BEST BRAND but we will also have the following CATEGORIES:

-Best Weekly Club (for clubs that are held on a weekly or bi weekly basis)

-Best Monthly Club (for clubs that are held on a monthly or less basis)

-Best Bar (a venue is considered a bar if it licence closes before 3am, even if it has club facilities)

-Best Event (for clubs and events that are held on a less frequent basis than once every two months. This includes annual events. If a club is new and they have had a frequency that match this,  it will be considered an event for that year.)

-Best New Brand  (these are marked by an ‘*’ and will be placed in this category. A club or event is listed as ‘new’ if it was first added to our Club Diary in 2010 and has not been in our diary prior and is based in London) and

-Best International Brand (a club, party or event not held in the United Kingdom but we can recommend)

Each category will also have a Runner-Up position.

How Many Times Can I Vote?

This year we are using FACEBOOK authentication. By liking a photo in our YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU 2011 album on our Facebook Page…you are voting for your favourite club. Comments are welcomed too. You can LIKE as many flyers as you like. Only flyers liked in our official album will be counted towards the vote… votes from shares will not count unless it auto adds to the vote already. Only the numbers under the flyers in our gallery will count…so shares may promote the club, but the like has to be registered in the orignal album under the orignal flyer. From what we understand you can only LIKE the same image once. You may have to LIKE our FaceBook Page first before taking part in the poll. If you do not have  a FaceBook profile than email us with your selection from the above nominated clubs.

How Do You Stop People From Cheating?

You can only like the same image once, which is authenticated from your profile. You must be logged into FaceBook to vote, which authorises that profile. You may need to LIKE the SeenQueen Page to vote.

Emails sent with a vote will need to authenticated. Please check your Junk mail a coule of days after emailing your vote. If you do not reply to the email authorisation, your vote may not be added.

What Does The Winner Get?

The winning clubs will receive a CLUB AWARD LOGO which they can proudly display on their flyers and posters letting the world know they are London’s favourite club/bar/event/international club as voted by YOU. They will also be referred to in all editorial as ‘BEST CLUB/EVENT/BAR etc…

The BEST BRAND (that is, the overall winner) will receive ‘visual’ exposure (or advertising) on Seen Queen until the end of March 2010,  while each category winner will receive one month free ‘visual’ exposure (or advertising) on Seen Queen (which is included in the ‘overall’ winners prize).

Remember, Seen Queen already only lists the ‘best of the best’ so this accolade means the winner(s) are at the top of their field and a brand that can be trusted to deliver.

SQ 2011 End Of Year List

What Was Hot? What Did We Love? Who Influenced Us?  The SQ List is a new tribute in recognition of those movers and shakers that make our scene and world a funkier place.

These lists are made up not from public votes but from recognizing those names that keep popping up in our lives and onto SeenQueen.com posts. The lists include people, technology, music, websites and things that we love and can recommend to our peers as being the best of their field in the past year.

Welcome to the first end of year SeenQueen.com Lists.

TOP 3 LONDON BASED DJS

Pagano

1. PAGANO: Italy’s loss is London’s gain. There is no doubt this DJ & Producer is London’s biggest name behind the decks. He plays globally on a regular basis at all the hottest clubs and events, and when he can  he will spin his unique sound here in London. He is also equally recognized for his productions and remixes which has a distinct euro-circuit sound…and his name appeared most as either producer, remixer or both when we asked DJs around the world what was their number one track for 2011

2. OLIVER M: Oliver M is not only a DJ he is also a club promoter. He was responsible for starting the Spanish invasion with Matinee and introduced those pixel light walls that has, ever since been copied by Fire, Area and other clubs in one form or another. He also saved AM earlier in the year by reintroducing it to the gAyLIST and bought Europe and London closer together by debuting many European brands and exporting local London brands. He now plays more on the continent than he does here, but it is his influence and presence which was essential in creating a united Europe of dance.

3. DOUG SILVA: A relatively new DJ on the scene (formerly know as Dougium), he came to light winning a DJ competition then prominence by Djing at various Fire events. His music style, creditability, integrity and sexy looks has made him one of the better and more popular DJs of the new breed and while many newer DJs sell out to commercialism to ‘keep their jobs’, Doug Silva has kept true to his roots and lands him a well earned place of recognition in the SeenQueen.com end of year lists.

TOP 3 PODCASTS (as determined by user click through)

1. OLIVER M ‘IBIZA 2011′  >>Listen/Download

2. STEVE PITRON ‘SUMMER 2011 V1′   >>Listen/Download

3. OLIVER M ‘@SALVATION POOL PARTY MYKONOS 2011′  >>Listen Download

Danny Verde

TOP 3 INTERNATIONAL SCENE DJS

1. DANNY VERDE (ITALY)- if a fabulous track was being rotated by the big name DJs on the global gay scene, be assured somewhere Danny Verde’s name was on there somewhere either as producer or remixer.

2. LEOMEO (FRANCE)- There is no escaping this sexy and popular Parisian be it London, Berlin, Asia, Australia or his home town Paris. Every hot and sexy party has at least has had his name on it…and we are reminded with the plethora of podcasts we download from FaceBook. If there is a party, Leomeo name is not far behind

3. WAYNE G (USA) -Sydney, America, London and all those cruise ships. He is London’s greatest export and America’s biggest gain. If there is a high energy remix, a Diva screaming or a dark and twisted but ultra sexy tune in a dance floor…no doubt Wayne G is spinning, remixing or performing. Circuit and Wayne G are synonymous and when he is in London he always plays to an eager crowd.

Crazibiza

TOP 3 HOUSE REMIXERS

When we look through many DJs record boxes, certain house remixers and producers names keep popping up over and over again. Sure there are so many, but these ones grabbed our attention in 2011 and featured strongly in our Hit List.

1. CRAZIBIA – Tracks include Back 2 house, Born, My Lips, Bitch Lady. More: http://www.beatport.com/artist/crazibiza/104932

2. BASS KLEPH – Tracks include I’ll Be Ok, Melocoton, Oh Yeah, Be Right There, These Mornings. More: http://www.beatport.com/artist/bass-kleph/9960

3. AVICII – Tracks include Levels, Street Dancer, Sweet Dreams, Rapture. More: http://www.beatport.com/artist/avicii/86436

LONDON GAY SCENE MOST 3 INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE

Jonny M

1. JONNY M – Hailing form Brighton this boy hit Fire and was soon virtually running the place. He is  being recognised for bringing the ORANGE NATION, a club group which dominates about half of the gAyLIST club scene,  into the 21st Century. Within a few months of his presence changes started occurring. Suddenly they had up to date and active FaceBook profiles, new websites, guest list sites and eflyers. New fanpages and groups were popping up and being maintained… the young and innovative energy of Jonny M bought the Orange Nation kicking and screaming into the world of the social network. It was under his PR rule that All Things Orange became the Orange Nation. Years of similar suggestions went unrecognised until this young blood, who was bought up in the social network world, knew if you couldn’t click on LIKE, no one would know what it was. If  it was happening at the Orange Nation the latest enews would land in your inbox to let you know. We aren’t saying he is the creator of these things, but not long after he ascend into the public relations and operations area of the group did we see such an embrace of the digital media….making the Orange Nation a digital media force. His influence is one most recognized in the Orange Nation. Also a club promoter and a DJ…you can see why he is our number  one most influential gay seen-star.

2. MINTY- She has worked on any door that mattered, and if you mattered you knew Minty. She was not an easy knock over either…saying hi to here simply wasn’t enough, you had to impress her, prove to her you were worthy of entering this venue and hanging out with all the others already inside. Everyone knew if Minty was on the door, the club was something special…be it small and intimate or a circuit like event. She was the unofficial stamp of quality guaranteed, and when left to rule the entrance way her way, a club could transform night. Minty is the quality control and standard you need to look for when you go clubbing…she won’t

Minty

put up with bullshit, crawling or flattery from both promoters, venue owners or clubbers….be real, be you and that may be enough!

3. JODIE HARSH – Jodie Harsh is a scene celebrity in the true sense of the world. She is famous for being her and for running some of the most trendiest, desirable and hottest club on the scene. While Vauxhall might get the stick for being generic, Jodie is know for here particular glamour and style. East End meets West End…be somebody or be nobody! Her success with Room Service and Circus plus her latest tour to Ibiza with the former mentioned club mapped Jodie Harsh as a promoter with style, influence and a ‘if you are in , you’re in ‘ type attitude. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but like SeenQueen.com, we aren’t meant to be!

WHO GOT US HOT!

Jay Roberts

1. JAY ROBERTS- Playtime(@Lo Profile) front man and international porn star we follow his tweets, groups and fanpages…and he in return gives us glimpses at his smile, style and manhood. We sweat, we rock and we want Jay Roberts,, preferably naked!

2. ISSAC JONES- Baby, baby, baby…when we see him smile, the glimpse of his tatooo and him in action….this Pornstar was born to fuck. He has already been removed from FaceBook for just being too hot…a simple pic for us is a smouldering ‘no way’ for the frigid network. Saying that, you can catch Isaac Jones on various porn sites and now on Google Plus where he can show you more!

3. NICK RIPLEY- One of London’s most in demand dancers, he is always masculine, always ripped and is one dancer that actually can dance. No matter what he wears, he wears it well and always a pleasure to view be it at a massive WE PARTY or at LoProfile. Dance and desire were made for this gogo.

TOP 3 GAY SCENE INDEPENDENT WEBSITES (apart from SeenQueen.com)

1. www.fetishpig.co.uk – within a year the site we call our dirty brother has gone from bottom 5 million to top one million websites in the world. With a passion for fetish, like it’s glamorous sister SeenQueen.com it provides upto date clubbing news, pics, shopping and more. If it’s happpening in the London fetish scene, than it is happening on Fetish Pig, with a Google diary ready for synchronizing. They also include their own porn sinema with some of the hottest and dirties fetish films around.

2. www.discodamaged.com continue to provide London with a mixed bag of listings, news and reviews. They are as passionate about the scene as we are, and provide SeenQueen.com with alternative listings. For a great general guide to what’s on in London, especially of you can’t find it on SeenQueen.com then this is the website to visit.

3. www.gregbyng.com claims to have the biggest and most popular group on FaceBook. Attached to this group is his website where you can connect to and vote for various DJs, models and more. It’s a bit of hot look gallery…with various news of parties, podcasts and sorts. It is a new site and it still ranks very low in the Alexa, but it has growth and potential which is why we have added it here…and when the site finds its niche and focus it could easily become a fantastic global circuit resource.

TOP 3 SCENE PHOTOGRAPHERS

What would social networks, scene magazines, SeenQueen.com all be without the photographer. They line the outside world to this world and turn every day people into pixel-superstars. These three photographers have impressed us the most with the quality, consistency and beauty of their work…

1. DAVID HART- everybody wants to be photographed by David Hart. He can make the plain look gorgeous and the gorgeous look drop dead stunning. He set the lates trend for boutique photography in clubs first at Room Service and then at Gigolo. He won’t photograph just anyone…if he sees something in you…the shutter will go snap!

2. CHRIS JEPSON- he is everywhere, and everyone loves a pic by Chris Jepson. From fetish to glamour, from hunky to alternative, when Chris pulls out his lens everyone wants a piece!

3. OSCAR NAYA ED- This relatively new photographer has a unique style instantly recognisable. Utilising photography angles and photoshop he has created some great images for clubs like Salvation…and lands in at number 3 as one of the scenes hottest photographers.

TOP 3 ARTIST ABLUMS

Immortal

1. IMMORTAL by MICHAEL JACKSON – an absolute stroke of genius, this remix album was done for the Cirque De Sol tribute show, and you have never heard Michael Jackson like this before. A fitting tribute to the King of Pop

2. BORN THIS WAY by LADY GAGA- no other artist has impressed upon the world and indeed the gays more than Lady Gaga. This album already contains at least 6 to 7 hits across the European territory with amazing videos. Born This Way was a powerful statement on so many levels and we recognized this album as Lady GaGa’s equivalent to Madonna’s Like A Virgin.

3. 21 by ADELE – class and style from one of the most unassuming pop stars on the planet…loved both on the radio and dance floor (in her remix form) alike. There isn’t a DJ alive that wouldn’t spin an Adele track in one form and I challenge anyone to tell me they don’t like her. Pure and well earned class.

TOP 3 APPS

1. INSTAGRAM is the biggest photo sharing app on iPhone and soon to be Android. It allows the user to view the world form the confort of tier own home and to see things from a different angle. Nice UI, great users and a wealth of beautiful images. This app has launched a whole industry around it, so when you join Instagram you are entering a community. Warning…it can be highly addictive! >>GET THE APP

2. MOMENTO is a remarkable diary app. Not only can you make regular diary inputs very much as you would in any paper diary, but you can also download your status from a variety of social networks and nearly any RSS feed. It is presented in a easy to read timeline. Diary entries can be tagged and connected to and with location, photos, people from your address book and events. It is your own personal life and social network time line all in one. The diary can also be exported to your computer for safe keeping and similarly restored. >>GET THE APP

3. PATH – this is a relatively new iOS & Android app that lets friends communicate in real time sharing photos, thoughts, what they are listening to and more. All their latest posts appear in a PATH type time line and include a unique ‘sleep feature’ letting your friends know when you are off line and back again. You can comment on each post as well as smile, gasp, love, frown and other emotions. Kind of FaceBook meets Momento… a timeline diary of what you and your friends are up to.  >>GET THE APP

TOP 3 SOCIAL SITES

www.pinterest.com

Social networks ia the buzz word of the 21st Century and while FaceBook is the general catch all and kind of these sites, we have a look at other newer entries into the social network arena.

1. www.pinterest.com : The idea of Pintrest is simple…see something you like, you pin it to a board of your making. The board can be anything you want it to be, and the pin is usually an image that links to a website, image or other location. Think of it like a cork board where you place images of things you like, or your desktop full of stickies or even your fridge full pics of your favourite things. Visually it is very appealing and the stie attracts a lot of designers, fashion people, photographers and the like.

2. www.plus.google.com : Google Plus is one of the fastest growing social networks and reflects the the way truly share things. We create different circles of different interests and place people who share those interests. Post can be directed and those particular circles to capture those who may have an interest. Google Plus has a lot of porn, geeks, photographers, graphic artists, web developers and the like and generally is more liberal and reflective of the the real world than the rather frigid FaceBook. The responsibility of content and who they share it with is with the user, so common and respect is required….like in the real world. Video hangouts seem to be G+ buzz at the moment where you can have video chats with up to 10 people at a time…who are part of your circles.

3. www.klout.com : Klout is more a measure of social influence than a network but uses social networks like Twitter, G+, Linked In, Instagram, Facebook and others to measure just how effective and influential once post are. How they work this out is based on likes, retweets, comments and plus ones and other criteria, You are then allocated a Klout score out of 100 and some interesting metrics like which topics your are influential in, people you influence and your viral reach.

NEWS WE LOVED 2011

End of Iraq War

1. End of the War in Iraq: Yes they lied to us, and they may have caused more harm then good, but now it’s over….good, bad or indifferent let this be a memorable lesson for the West.

2. Occupy: real democracy spreads across the world as the people let the worlds governments know that it’s time for a change. From economic protests in New York to pro-democracy in Egypt.  It also showed an oppressive side of America demoting itself from being the ‘land of the free’ and reinforcing to its people that this change is important for us all, as those in power cling on to power in their own interest and not that of the people. People power…and this may be only the beginning.

3. Royal Wedding of William & Kate: in all the doom and gloom we needed a bit of joy, pomp and ceremony. This was the perfect escape….

This feature first appeared on Brent Nicholls personal blog www.brentnicholls.com/web/blah

It’s no secret I am a geek when it comes to technology, iphone and apps. So when I download apps I use, abuse and then decide…is it worth keeping?

With the inclusion of high pixels cameras in mobile phones, geo location and apps…this has paved the way for what could only be social networks based upon photos sharing. Photo sharing is noting new..Picassa, Flickr are a couple to name a few. However transfer that to your mobile phone and you get an instant stream of interactions.

Looking at the apps available, at this point, I must say I enjoy the three following apps the most. Each one approaches photo-networking in a different way.

Instagram

1. INSTAGRAM

By far my most favourite socio-photo-network app and by most favourite social network. I use Instagram for pleasure, which is probably the only social network I do use for this purpose, instead of just networking

The Basics: sign up, take pics, upload. Connect to FaceBook and Twitter and have your friends there auto load onto Instagram where you follow (or not) those you would like. It helps to create an instant network.

The Idea: take photos and upload. You then can like and or comment on others pics. The app comes with several filters which are easily added by selecting them. They give a preview of how your photo is enhanced before you upload. The app lets you take a fresh pic or to select one from your camera roll. You can add tags so others who add the same tag will create a page where all photos of the same tag will appear. You can also link to FourSquare and add locations.

Why: From this network I have gained a fresh eye on the world. This was only emphasized when someone uploaded photos of Camden Markets, and when I commented on them and asked where he too these, I was surprised it was a place I frequented. He gave me a perspective on Camden Market I never saw…and this now makes me see my world very differently. Taking photos of buildings, nature and ‘secret’ public photos have added another dimension to my photo taking. It has also encouraged me to download other photo apps to enhance and enrich my images, which in itself is creative and fun. More importantly I can see the world through the eyes of others. People sharing for different reasons, but mostly sharing with you how they see the world.

Addiction: Many people are. I don’t know why. Maybe they work for the likes to get on the popular page, or is just part of our curious nature. Perhaps it  is how it influences you to see things…to take a picture at an unusual angle, add some effects and filters and then share. It certainly taps into the creative side. Some Instagrammers or IGers, as they are called, arrange IG meets where you all gather in a certain location, and the take images and photos as you explore the area and upload as you go. Statigr.am and Extragr.am are online versions of the app, both requiring Instagram accounts. They offer a more easy way to view, comment and like photos (although you can’t upload). Statigr.am in particular gives you statistics on who your best followers are, who you follow most, number of likes and comments plus badges of these stats to share with fellow IGers.

Piictu

2. PIICTU

Piictu  approaches photo sharing from another angle, trying to make it fun and a times challenging. Like Instagram you sign up and set up a profile, except when you upload a pic, place a caption you create a stream…and you can call this stream whatever you like. For example, you might upload a picture of your dog, and call the stream ‘Pictures of your favourite pets’ Other user than will add to your stream a picture of their favourite pet.

The Basics: sign up, upload a pic and start a new photo stream or add to an existing photostream. You can follow people and connect to your social networks too, as well as like piics (as they call it) added to the various streams.

The Idea: It’s more fun and challenging if you stick to the theme of the particular stream, so ‘any thing blue’ could be ‘anything blue’….a marble, a smurf, a flower, the ocean, the sky and so on The interesting thing about this is how people interpret the ‘stream challenge’….it’s open to interpretation and you can be as creative as you want.  A picture of rainbow showed some stunning rainbow pics, as well as colour palates, pimped pics that added the colours of the rainbow and various colourful collages. Some streams are quite basic like ‘a pic of yourself’ while others can be more cryptic…and open to interpretation. It is great to start a stream that gets a lot of interest and more importantly interesting piics.

Why: It’s fun and alluringly addictive. It is quite funny what people do add and it’s nice to see others appreciate your effort. Unlike Instagram there are no filters to ‘pimp’ your piics, that needs to be done pre share…or take a ‘fresh’ pic with your camera and instantly upload.

Addiction: After you get used to the idea that if you just add a pic it becomes a new stream, and you work a well worded caption may attract some attention from contributors…once you are in the swing of things you start thinking…’what else can I share, add or create’.

Rating: **** 4/5

3.Shnap

Shnap is like Instagram meets Picctu but is more a  ’game’ playing styled app. On Shnap you can rate other pics, follow and create contests. Unlike the other apps, you earn Shnap bucks which gives you the ability to upload pics, while rating pics you earn Shnap bucks. The more you earn the higher you get in the levels which unlocks certain privileges and filters.

The Basics: sign up, upload, rate, share pics and set up contests for others to take part in. These contests may be ‘best beach pic’ or ‘most beautiful sunset’ types.

The Idea: The crux is rating other people’s pics. They can earn one of several ratings which you select: Meh (if you don’t want to rate the pic), LOL, Aww, Huh?, Cool and Wow. These show up on the person pics stats to show them how people have rated their images. By rating you earn Shnap bucks to elevate you through the levels. You earn this by rating other people’s pics and taking part in contests. It currently costs 10 Shnaps to upload a pic (don’t worry  you are given plenty when you join and you can buy more if u want (for real money!). The more Shnap bucks you earn the higher you get and you earn access to various new filters, which like Instagram, can be added before posting. I get the feeling its more about game play than sharing pics…although one goes with the other.

Why: See how well your pics are received. Are they Wow, Cool or funny in the form of LOL. Perhaps people think Huh? Similarly let others know how they feel about their images. You don’t know who’s rating who and if you want to send a message you can write on their wall. If you see something you like than ‘share’ it and it will be recommended  to your followers.

Addiction: At first I enjoyed it, but I realised a lot of people are players on here. You can end up rating images in an autonomic fashion to earn Shnap bucks. It doesn’t seem to have the passion or interest the other apps have, or perhaps i feel less passionate about it. At first  Meh was one of the rating which I thought was unnecessary. Why leave a rating at all if you don’t like the pic? To upload a pic to get a rating also changes the motivation of  what you are uploading. If you upload for popularity instead of sharing, it changes what you upload and funnily how you rate. I don’t like giving negative ratings and I don’t like to see my images with them. They removed the Meh to be something you click not to rate the image…instead replacing it with Huh? which at times can be appropriate for some pics. Due to it being more about ratings than sharing, I only check  in to this now and again to see what’s up and how my pics are going. For those who like seek  ’glory through sharing’ and are competitive in this way, you may find it quite addictive. I can take it or leave it, but it is still worth an inclusion here due to its game play and uniqueness.

CRUISE WITH LA DEMENCE- Essentials & An Interview With The Promoter

LA DAMENCE CRUISE 2 FOR 1 SALE!

La Demence is probably Brussels best know club, and this year it was the Runner to Best International Club in the SeenQueen.com Club Poll. With an international reputation, La Demence is now taking to the high seas with La Demence Cruise….the first 100% gay cruise organized by Brussels based international party !

    ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

    • Book now on www.lademence.com limited availability !

    Concept

LA DEMENCE is chartering a complete cruise ship (1828 passengers) from 1 till 8 July 2011, to sail from Malaga to Athens. You can expect all European nationalities, different ages, and types of boys, to be on the ship, just like the party in Brussels!

    Relaxing time…

This is a real holiday so it will not only be about partying. You can visit the charming island of Malta and the spectacular Santorini. In Mykonos, you can go to the gay beach, watch one of the most beautiful sunsets, and enjoy the typical bars and restaurants.

On the ship you can go to the gym, or enjoy relaxing in a chaise longue at the pool, or on the sun deck, while listening to nice lounge music, and drinking a cocktail. In the evening you can have a romantic dinner in the à la carte restaurant, and watch the shows in the theatre.

    Party time !

Before sunset, you can get into the mood with a pool-side t-dance party (except the days that we are visiting the islands). Followed by a break for dinner, or a nap, and then at midnight you are ready for the main party at the pool. You will be dancing under the stars in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on the beats of the best LA DEMENCE djs: Phil Romano (IT), Steven Redant (BE), Chris Bekker (DE), Ben Manson (FR), Oliver M (UK), Dikky Vendetta (NL).

As the main pool party approaches its end, the more enduring clubbers can descend the ship to Zoom night club, where the after party will go on till very late… Some of the parties will be theme parties: disco, military, fetish, white party,…

    Ship and cabins

Our ship will be the magnificent Pullmantur Horizon, completely renovated in 2009. We invite you to make a virtual tour on it and also see the different types of cabins.

    Prices

Cabins start from 899€ per person (-100€ when younger than 26 years), including 7 nights cruise, all food (restaurant à la carte, buffet, grill, 24h snacks), soft drinks, all the parties and shows, all taxes and port taxes. It does not include transportation to and from the ship, alcoholic beverages (2€ for draft beer and wine; only 3€ for main spirits: Eristoff, Bacardi, Gordon’s, Ballantines), and 65€ service charge per person.

    Flights pre and post cruise

The ship is departing from Malaga on Friday, July 1st, at 18h00, but embarkation will start at 15h00. We advise to arrive in Malaga the day(s) before, for many reasons:

-flights are cheaper than on July 1st (beginning of the high season)

-accomodation in Torremolinos (15 km. from Malaga) is very cheap; we will offer you nice hotels as from 25€

-Torremolinos has a nice beach, an important gay nightlife, and we will organize a big welcome party the night before departure !

-the marvellous Andalusian cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba can be easily visited from Malaga

The ship is arriving in Athens on Friday, July 8th at 08h00 in the morning. If you wish to stay in Athens for the week-end (flights can be cheaper then), or even make an extension holiday in Mykonos, we will make you good offers

    Single

If you are single, you will share your cabin with another single, unless you pay for two. In that last case, you can add a partner up to 2 weeks before departure. There is also a forum on facebook where you can meet other singles, so that you can choose with whom you share the cabin.

    Don’t wait any longer !

Cabins category “A” are already sold out, some other categories are almost sold out, and flights are getting more expensive because of the high season.

    INTERVIEW WITH THE PROMOTER

Wanting to know more about this Cruise we caught up with La Demence promoter Thierry to find out how, why and what for.

    1. WHAT DOES LA DEMENCE MEAN?

It means to go crazy, wild. (If you’ve ever been to La Demence party, that is exactly what it’s like)

    2.    YOUR CRUISE IS ON THE SAME TIME AS MADRID, LONDON and COLOGNE PRIDE…WITH ALL THESE CHOICES WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE TO GO ON ‘LA DEMENCE CRUISE’?

If we could have chosen our cruise dates, it’s sure we would have opted for a different timing, but finding a cruise ship with the perfect features for this kind of gay cruise, and the right size (1.828 passengers) has taken 2 years, and there were no other dates available this Summer. Otherwise we should have had to postpone it for another year. But we are confident since gay prides happen every year again, and this is the first 100% gay cruise organized by a very infamous international circuit party. And the capacity of our ship is very limited compared to the millions attending all these prides together.

    2.    WILL THIS CRUISE BE LIKE THE AMERICAN ONES?

This European cruise will be very different from the American ones, since, while the American ones have a large majority of Americans, and a minority of Europeans, LA DEMENCE Cruise will attract mostly Europeans, just as it does during the monthly parties in Brussels. The guys that have booked up to now are also younger, than the ones I have seen when cruising with the American cruises. Not only the crowd will be very European, but also the entertainment. Instead of a full American dj line up, we will have a full European dj line up: Phil Romano (IT), Oliver M (UK), Chris Bekker (DE), Dikky Vendetta (NL), Ben Manson (FR), Steven Redant (BE). The shows will also have a European touch, and the parties will be the unique LA DEMENCE parties !

    3.    CAN YOU GIVE ME A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOU AS A PROMOTER.

I organized the first LA DEMENCE parties more than 21 years ago in a mansion on the countryside, some 80 miles from Brussels. Although it was situated quite far away, people were driving all the way up because it had such a unique atmosphere. When the mansion was sold 2 years later, we moved to the capital, where the central geographical positioning and the easy access to it, made the party quickly infamous all over the world. The clue to its success is the good mix of people that attend to the parties: you will find all ages, all types (leather boys, muscle marys, fashion victims,…), and all nationalities, which creates a warm “family” atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable. Also, the fact that the club where the monthly party takes place, has 3 levels with 8 different djs, shows, strippers and darkrooms, makes it a real Disneyland for men! And it is cheap: entrance fee is from 15€ for a party that is packed with 2.000 boys from 10 pm till noon next day (!), beers are 4€, spirits 7€. So jump into that Eurostar ! The party is at only 5 min. walking distance from Eurostar train station, so you even don’t need a hotel.

    Upcoming dates are: 4 Feb, 4 March, 1 April, 22&24 April, 13 May, 12 June, 15 July, 14 August, 23 September, 28 till 31 October (22nd anniversary), 25 November, 1 January 2012.

    Tech: Instagram

Here is one for the iPhone users, Instagram is a social network based photography share app available on iPhone for FREE.

    Instagram Feed

    Instagram Feed

One of my favourite social tools at the moment is INSTGRAM, and app on iphone that allows you to upload or take a pic, add a choice of several filters to make it look more ‘arty, retro, different’ or whatever your choice and share it with followers.

Like standard social network communications you can follow someone, block them, ‘like’ thier’ photos and comment. you can even set your images to pirvate so only those you give a password to can access them.

Why this has become one of my favourite social places is simple…it is pure creativity driven. The fact you can add filters to enhance or change your picture is great. The choice isn’t wide, but the end result is effective. Secondly, the images need to be cropped into a neat square…this makes all images appear uniform but more essentially it cuts down on spamming of the usual A4 images. In any case, most of the users post a wide variety of images from self portraits to snap shots they took on the way home.

Each image has a title you can assign to it and the optional ‘check in’ which can be from a list of places or you can add your own.

On a social level you can link INSTAGRAM to FaceBook, Twitter, Posterous, Flicker, FourSquare and Tumbler…so every time you add an image, you can let everyone know on your social networks so they can check it out too. When they click to view the image from one of these networks it takes them to an online INSTAGRAM page containing your pic. This is a single page with your pic and information about the app. You can not join online and there are no links on the page to other posts, this is only an information and display page.

INSTAGRAM is not an online website, it is purely mobile centred.

    Instagram Popular Pics

    Instagram Popular Pics

What I love about this app is the creativity in use. People on here have a creative streak, some with an amazing photographic eye if not a times humorous. Due to everything being communicated by images, what this says about the poster has a greater depth and feeling to it, not blurred or manipulated by words.

Being a global app, some of the images are beautiful and inspiring, Essentially it is instant delivery of whatever is catching your eye posted straight to your followers and social networks, Images of Food, architecture, friends, self portraits, funny signs, landscapes are all common. Art work, design and other innovative images are also popular.

We found the images from the app itself  can not be saved unless you do the screen capture trick, although if you are clicking through from a social network on the web they can be saved like normal from the displaying webpage.

Few words, lots of images. Love it.

It is FREE in the app store…they say a picutre is worth a thousand words…the silence of less FaceBook chatter  and annoying irrelevant tweets rings sweetly in my ears….creating someting soothing for the eyes.

    INSTAGRAM. Get it!

CLUB POLL 2010: YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU

    VOTING IS NOW CLOSED!

    1. VOTING CLOSED MIDNIGHT 20.1 2011.

    2. YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR VOTE BY MIDNIGHT 21.1.2011. Non confirmed votes will be considered as fake/false and the votes from those emails will be not added to the end result and some emails may even be added to our block list depending on the final filter outcomes.

    3. THE LAST SEEN RESULT is NOT the FINAL RESULT. After the last few confirmations, we will runs several IP and email checks to catch any duplicates which may have been added to the result. Duplicate votes will be removed and votes adjusted.

    4. THIS promises to be our most accurate poll yet. Some of you may have thought there may have been to many ‘hoops’ to jump through, but these are necessary to ENSURE our poll reflects the choice of the true voters. If there is one thing you can be sure of is our integrity and credability to provide you with the most accurate club poll possible.

    5. Our attitude is simple…one true vote is worth 10 false ones. If a person can take the time to vote, then they should also be able to confirm thier vote…the large amount of unconfirmed votes implies a lot of the email addresses were made up, dubplictes, fake or otherwise. Why people do this is unknown except winning our club poll can hold prestige for the club and also a back on the back from those that n=matter…you the clubbers….saying THANK YOU for those great clubbing moments. Well done!

6 Final POLL results announced 23.1.2011

Thank you to all those who logged a legitimate vote. Your feedback to the club promoters and other SeenQueen.com site visitors is invaluable.

    VOTING TRENDS

Here well will report on voting trends as they occur.

DATA SHARING: These trends are from the votes accepted at the club poll, but data is not shared with anyone and kept strictly confidential. Your vote remains anonymous. The only information revealed is the result and the trending posts below, and nothing more.

20.1.2011: Our confirmation process has seen 288 unconfirmed/fake/false/non existent emails logged for our poll. An unconfirmed vote is an uncounted vote, this strategy providing us with the most accurate poll to date. Saying that, we believe some confirmation emails may have gone to the Junk Mail, but all things being equal and we are reminding people to check…if you can not confirm you vote by Midnight on 21.1.2011, it will be deleted! Unconfirmed votes include Profile (37), Beyond Afterhours (128), DTPM (36), As One (55), Trade (31), Sydney Mardi Gras (15), SuperMartXe (66)…and as you can see some of these figures makes the difference between wining first and loosing first. YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU. Check your junk mail!

20.1.2011: Europeans are out in full force with ‘strategic voting’ and ‘single club’ voting going on…

18.1.2011: Last year SeenQueen.com randomly selected emails to confirm. This year EVERY email except those auto-recognised need confirmation. This policy has proven effective in weeding out the fakes, false and duplicate votes (why bother folks, we gonna catch you….guaranteed, if not during the poll but then during the final filtering after the poll has closed!). If your email is legitimate, then CONFIRM it…that is 253 votes waiting to be confirmed. An unconfirmed email is worthless to us and a loss for the club you are voting for. This years poll is close, so your vote can make the difference. Check your junk mail…it may have gone there…after the 20th, you will have until the 21.1.2011 to confirm before the voting lockdown and final filters are applied to come up with the most accurate and reflective vote ever!

18.1.2011: Which manager has tried to vote three times using different emails and slight variations in their name? Which club has turned to strategic voting…with votes mainly coming in for itself but mostly from emails that don’t exist?

15.1.2011: Votes are flooding in…but now 175 emails need to be confirmed. That translates to 41 votes for SuperMartXe, 15 for the Sydney Mardi Gras, 55 votes for Onyx, 31 votes for La Damence, 17 for HotWired, 15 votes for the Shadow Lounge, 31 for Matinee and 66 for LoveChild. It is more important more than ever to check your junk mail, then confirm or it won’t be added. That is why this is the most secure club poll yet…if an email is not physically confirmed it is considered as fake/spam/junk.

15.1.2011: While most of the scene DJs have voted, some of the ‘bigger names’ haven’t. In saying that. a few of those who have voted did not necessarily vote for the clubs they worked at indicating they aren’t moved by ‘club politics’….or had a ‘wish list’ of where they would like to play.

8.1.2011: 51 emails are needing confirmation…so check the JUNK BOX. Emails not confirmed will be considered false or fake and will be removed and or block. Stats show those those 51 email contain a potential 15 votes for SuperMartxe, 9 for As One, 21 for A:M, 8 for WE. 10 for B2B and 12 for La Damence….so make sure you confirm or loose your vote…the difference between winning and loosing first, second and even third!

29.12.2010: More tom foolery in our Club Poll, this time quite innocent, but for the more astute of you it was quite noticeable. Our club poll employs the strictest security which means less votes will registered over all as there are more hoops to jump through and cheating has been made virtually impossible. This means a more accurate result but with a lower vote count. Due to this the poll allows at ‘booster’ shot which will equally give all nominations an equal amount of votes. This is so that some nominations will not have a vote of zero and it ‘equally inflates the poll to pad it upwards. Boosters are common on some polls, as it encourages voting. We employed the booster, although by accident, by ticking ‘yes’ instead of ‘no’. Votes have been readjusted back down by exactly 20 votes to reflect the number of votes registered. We have set the boost to ’0′ so it can not be accidentally added again. All births are messy, and with the new security measures we are still learning.

29.12.2010: BEYOND continues to lead the club poll as overall winner and best weekly club, A:M afterhours is a close runner up. The best bar so far is PROFILE, also clocking in 3rd overall beating super clubs like SuperMartXe is just outside the overall top 10 and second in the best monthly club, where the crown is currently worn by LoveChild. The best new event/bar/club is WE which is found at 8th place overall. Coming in at 17th place is the leading best International Party, Circuit Festival Barcelona. Best EVENT is AS ONE which stands strong 4th overall. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is Matinee, when under Oliver M won 3 years in a row, during the transition to Logan, fell from grace and now clocks in at 21 overall. Of course, anything can happen..so get VOTING!

22.12.2010: The promoters at BEYOND must have been jumping for joy when last years Best Overall Winner surged ahead with 100 votes beyond it’s nearest competition AS ONE. Cyber alarms rang wild here at SQHQ, as we run a comparison command between the small amount of votes (so far) that have been registered and the total votes on the poll; and then added filters and found out an input data error added a ’1′ to Beyond’s current vote putting it into three digits…which is not really expected to happen until later on in the poll when the competition heats up. It has now be rectified to reflect the actual vote. If you don’t think Beyond deserves to win again, there is only one way to change that…VOTE!

17.12.2010: Quite a few promoters and DJs are getting their votes out of the way early the overall TOP 5 currently being 1. As One (event) 2. Beyond Afterhours (weekly) 3. A:M Afterhours (weekly) 4. LoveChild (monthly) 5. Barcode Soho (bar)

    CLUB PIX: WE-tastic

The Spanish invasion of super clubs continue as WE came to London on sat 4.12.2010. They promised a party on a spectacular level and that is exactly what was delivered. The Coronet, the former home of SuperMartXE was transformed in a mega pixel, fluoro enhanced dance arena. Here are some images from that night.

Disco Matt said…”We were expecting great things from this WE launch, especially having seen the impact that the brand had made thus far both at home in Madrid and across Europe, but nothing quite prepared us for the amazing effects & atmosphere that we witnessed at The Coronet. To say we were spell bound by the enormous neon effects is an understatement and what’s more, the music matched in every respect, the team of main room stars each adding their own elements to create one of the best Spanish sorties on a Saturday we have seen in London in a long time. Now, we were going to fill our review with amusing analogies, like first wash cycle cold, midway rinse rapturous & second spin spectacular, but to be honest, they would simply deflect from the truly tremendous time we had and the wonderment that is WE. But moreover it would not reflect just how smooth the whole operation was, much down to the incredible organisation of the iLondon events crew, who along with the venue & WE’s Spanish team, should be heartily congratulated for pulling of  this party without hardly a hitch. WE London was Well Executed, encapsulated a Wonderful Ensemble, ended up being a truly Wicked Event and we enjoyed every minute of it, meaning we cannot wait for this Wonderful Espaniol to return, to once again make for the perfect WEekend….(read the full post HERE)
