It started a few back as a collective of bars deciding to pick a day, give it a name and see what happens. So Soho Pink Sunday was born. Over the next couple of years a drag race was introduced, parts of the street were closed and it went outdoors.
Still in its infancy, the organic growth is highlighted by the Drag Race… which is self explaining really. Gather a gaggle of Drag Queens, create a start line and make them run a block…it has to be one of the funniest and most colourful things we have seen! See the video below.
Later the SQ crew teamed up with the Wig Party and Society Party to go to Profile Tropicana party. The Wig Party were in the house to promote the event and capture every day people in Wigs, asking them ‘When I Wear A Wig I Feel….” and give us three words. Of course there were always the keen and those who shied away, however within hour of taking pics the place took on the vibe of party. Those who turned us down were turning up with friends to take part. We challenged preconceptions, got those into wig who normally wouldn’t and generally had a riot! Those photos can be seen on the >>Wig Party FaceBook Page
The images below are during the day, including pics from the Drag Race and the Wig Party promotion at LoProfile.
